BOETHIUS, Ancius Maniatus Severinus
(480-524 A.D.)
   Roman CHRISTIAN philosopher executed by the ARIAN Emperor Theodoric. His most influential work was The Consolation of Philosophy which he wrote as a vindication of DIVINE PROVIDENCE while in prison awaiting execution.
