(Hermes Trismegistus)
   a series of GNOSTIC type writings probably dating from the second century which claimed an ancient Egyptian origin. Today they are appealed to by many NEW RELIGIOUS MOVEMENTS seeking to LEGITIMIZE themselves historically.
